BetterWorld is a consultancy based in Nelson/Whakatū, Aotearoa run by Bevan Woodward (B.Comm and Post-Grad Certificate in Engineering).
I was raised in Nelson and Blenheim, and enjoyed the region's great weather combined with opportunities to explore the outdoors. I studied Accounting & Finance at Otago and worked in various commerce roles - firstly in Wellington, then Auckand, USA and Europe.
Coming back from overseas, I moved into IT sales and corporate account management. In 1999 I stepped off the corporate ladder to become an owner/operator of an outdoors store in Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore. There I got involved with Kaipatiki Restoration Trust and began a new vocation in sustainability. I worked for Auckland Regional Council and studied sustainable transport through Canterbury University.
I have worked for over 20 years with community groups is a variety of roles, both as a volunteer and in paid roles. This included a number of years contracting via Tindall Foundation to assist community groups to build capacity and improve their effectiveness.
Now living back in Nelson, I provide consulting services to community groups and am happy to meet for an initial discussion... at a cafe near you!
